Yes. It will be the greatest experience you've ever had. We did it in 2.5 months time and we saw everything from Bears to families living in the woods. You will meet everybody on the planet along this trail and see amazing vistas. The Colorado trail is killer as well. Good luck and good hiking!! email for any info if you wish, jack

No, but if you want to read a really good book that will tell you what to expect, read Bill Bryson's book about it. He has several books out and Im not sure of the title of this one, but its funny and informative at the same time
