Microsoft Word's spell checker blows! It never knows anything. All sorts of common terms it flags as mispellings. In particular it's really horrible at internet terms (not surprising... microsoft is horrible at the internet, haha).

Is there a way to update it? Does microsoft offer free downloadable updates to it? What's the best way to get more modern terms into the spell-check dictionary?

I too have been looking for a way to add to Microsoft's dictionary. I'm not able to find anything on their web site! What I've been doing so far is just adding to the dictionary manually, any time I run spell checker, and I want to add an abbreviation. Just click add to dictionary. I've been doing this for two years, so I've managed to get my dictionary fairly well up-to-date on the terms used on computers and Internet. Sorry I can't be more help.

speaking and listening to are a lot extra sturdy for me than interpreting and writing in my overseas language, too. It takes practice. See in case you'll hit upon a community speaker of English to practice with a minimum of a few cases per week, possibly individual who's interpreting chinese. Your college would have a software that could also help you meet someone to practice with. I had a pal in college from Honduras. We met 3 cases per week for some hours and only talked; now and again we requested one yet another particular questions, yet commonly we only reported modern-day activities, family individuals, training, artwork, stuff in keep living house windows, nutrients, some thing in any respect. We took turns, speaking in English for the first hour and Spanish for the second one. It replaced into very effective for both one human beings. i will also inform you that you would discover classification lectures in English more convenient to comprehend than you imagine. I took various training that were performed completely in Spanish. It replaced right into a lot more convenient for me to comprehend the professors' lectures than to comprehend elementary conversations, in part because they spoke contained in the academic Spanish I had studied, in part because really the single individual replaced into speaking, and in part because I continually sat close adequate to lip examine the professor. I fantastically propose the lip interpreting, because you will see that entire words form, in spite of if aspects of them are literally not audibly spoken as a results of an accent.
