First of all, it's not guys who have to think. It's "your" guy that has to think. There is a problem. Don't be fooled. Why would a person say "I Love You" & the other person have to take a few days to think about it? Be patient. Give a few days & when it's time to talk drill him until your get your answers. If he's not truthful with you, you have a decision to make.

Sure, I'll explain it for you.
Guys are wary of defining a relationship. Gals love to define relationships, it's a form of commitment. I've even known women who label it The Talk, as in they've been dating for a while and it's time to take the next step.
For a guy, that's just the first step of the marriage aisle.
I believe (and it's just me) that women would have a much more engaging relationship if they did not try to define it and allow the relationship to evolve on it's own.

To me it seem that for him, your apparent lack of commitment made him consider that the relation was not going anywhere and possibly not worth sacrificing something for.
I would imagine that he recently made a decision in which that fact played a role. I can't say exactly what it is in his situation, but it could be something like living arrangement (chosing an appartment with a roommate), taking a very taking job or one out of town, college choice (one that would send him far away), making himself available to a more fullfilling relation, breaking up, financial deals, etc
Now he would like to revisit that decision since it could play an important role in his (and possibly your) future.

May be hes unsure of completely commiting like to a mariage possibility.
I think now that he is sure of ur feelings he doesnt want the feelings to go too far or for u to start dreaming ,,ntill he decides and is sure to cmmiting.
He seems like the kind of guy who keeps his commitment and such ppl need to tink alot before commiting.

How old is he ?? Sounds like he is 13 and was just telling you he loved you to get some action. He should be excited that you feel the way you do and if he has to think about it , you should reconsider your true feelings for this new person that has appeared.

More than likely he doesn't want to commit to something with you.
It would seem, from what you wrote, that he said he loved you only to get you to act a certain way, or to get something from you.
You saying it to him places the relationship into a more committed status and he must not be sure he wants that.
I would really question his motives....
