OK and entire litre of vodka in one weekend?? yes there are old people who drink in moderation that have no ill effects, but drinking that much in such a short time can kill her. She could get alcohol poisoning when (not if) her liver can no longer keep up with her alcohol consumption.

Hello,
This is a very hard question to answer because one persons perception of whats OK & acceptible (you) is not anothers (your friend). Your friends vodka consumption is incredible and extremely scary to put it mildly. This sounds like self harm & it's self destructive & it sounds out of control. OK! most of us got drunk occationally when we were younger but this sounds different, its a trend or becoming a habit.
**He/She needs to look at the reasons why? they feel such a strong need to get out of it so often. They must be very unhappy! normally happy or even averagely happy people dont need to get S*** faced every weekend, I dont think this is normal behavoiur.
**He/She clearly doesnt know where the "real limits" are, when it comes to her/his alcohol consumption. They dont seem to know when enough is enough.
**Also they might well come to regret this level of vodka comsumption later on in life, when he/she is diagnosed with alcoholic liver disease and ends up being put on the list of people needing liver transplants. (believe me NOT nice!!).
**Consumption of vodka has become a national health epidemic in Russia because people drink too much & alot of bad or illegal vodka is made.
**I dont have any easy answers, you could try taking him/her to a hospital ward where people who have had liver transplants? shock treatment (i.e. you dont want to end up like me do you?) Has your friend ever seen someone with liver failure, who has no energy and is yellow/green (not nice).
**Additional comment: x1 week is NOT enough for your body to recover from the effects of consuming a litre of alcohol, & so damage to the body is a certainty, the only question remains how long it will take?
**Sorry! its not one of my better answers.

Wow that's to bad she should visit an AA and check all the people out, there not just old folks, I just went to my cousins funeral who is 44 and he's been drinking sense 13 then after that he went to the hard stuff pot, cocaine, heroin, he abused his body so bad he looked like a little old man when he died. You know I went threw what you did trying to tell my friends it will catch up with you, but they didn't believe it either now I don't hang out with these people because I don't really drink much or even have it at my house, I don't want to have anything to do with people who drink, you know you could just try giving her articles on drinking and what it can do to you maybe she will read them, or tell her you don't want to hang out with her because of her drinking. Good Luck.

Your friend is kidding herself, not only is she putting her safety at risk, but she could potentially give herself liver disease and numerous other illness that come with excess drinking,,,,,,yes maybe some people get to an old age with no ill-effects from alcohol, but your friend with find that alot more DO suffer ill-effects and die from them and NOT from such an old age!!!!!!!!!

Vodka has a high content of alcohol. Moderation is important when it comes to this kind of drink.

why do you need to persuade her? You can said that her skin gets older quicker by drinking alcohol and give her something healthier and taste to drink.

I probably used to drink that on an average fri/sat weekend when I was 17-20!!!!She will prob grow out of it like I did, it would be worse if she was mixing her drinks & taking drugs so don't be too harsh!x x
