I really don't get that one at all, I think that "those people" that you speak of will use anything to justify their hate. I personally disagree, but then I am in the twenty-first century, not the friggin dark ages.
I am a Christian, by do not think it is my place to pass judgment on others, tell them how to live their lives. I am also heterosexual, and I can testify to this, I did not choose to be this way, it is how God made me. I cannot control what "turns me on". I also believe that you can justify ANYTHING by picking apart the Bible, and that is BS. God is love, not hate and competition. Peace be with you.

I agree with you for the most part!!
I am a Christian, but THIS is what I believe.
YES, it says in the Bible it is a sin for a man to lay with another man. However...NO WHERE IN THE BIBLE does it say it's a choice to feel that way.
I've seen documentaries that have said being gay stems from a defect in the brain caused while still in the mothers womb. Too much estrogen exposed to the male fetus, and too much testosterone exposed to the female fetus.
However...the Bible still states it is a sin for a man to lay with another man.
So...the way I see it is, you can be gay and still be a faithful Christian, since it is not your choice. However, your life will require more discipline because you have to resist the urges that you have to be with someone of the same sex. But, if you do...I believe that you are okay.
I hate all the trouble this topic brings. In fact, it is something that my fiance' and I rarely discuss. He won't even listen to my side of the story even though it has scientific proof. So, I just want to say to all the gay people out there...not all Christians believe that way. At least I DON'T!!

When you look at the body of a male and a female and all of the functioning components on the inside it is clear that the bodies were made to be put together. Sperm shoots so that it can impregnate. women have wombs and men do not for a reason. My point is that men and women were created to be together. Being a religious person, I believe that God made it this way. I dont hate gay people and I dont get involved in debate if it's good or bad or if they will go to Hell. That's for God to decide.

needless to say a faith will become mythology after it dies out. the type faith takes is in actuality based on the form of society. E.g. the greater centralised the political equipment is, the greater based and centralised faith might tend to be. Pre christian faith which has grow to be greater often than not mythology now, has been rooted out over a era of approximately 2 hundred years by the RCC. They first grabbed the capability and then began taking posession of the temples and their wealth. the technique became into finalised while in lots of bishopries contained in the 6th and seventh century heathens have been given the alternative: get baptised or we confiscate each and every thing you have contained in the call of god and our very own handbag. The jewel of the crown got here while the pope offered himself to the king of the Franks with some faux data so observed as written by Constantine the super and Saint Peter himself wherein the pope became into given finished Italy and western europe. when you consider that he became right into a modest man or woman (popes are constantly modest while they attempt to get something) he took basically a brilliant portion of Italy. From then on human beings had to have faith what their lords believed. of course christianism, islam and hinduism are actually not eternal. they are going to get replaced by ideals that in the time of great condition greater effective with society. one might desire to assert we already see various components of recent faith, mutually as on the comparable time components of the previous religions are transforming into mythology already. New components: celebrities, the prefer for costly products promising status, the two tier society (wealthy and destructive) for which faith will hit upon a justification. previous components: X-mas, processions, many rituals.

No. I base my belief that gays "choose" on observation. I believe that people are homosexual for a few reasons.
1. They choose. I've known several people, most of them lesbians, who were just tired of the opposite gender and found emotional comfort and sexual fulfillment with the same gender.
2. They learn. Yes, crappy things can happen to people growing up that can move them towards homosexuality. Once initiated, this behaviour becomes habit that people accept as part of their life. I watched a pro-gay documentary once where the guy was happy to be gay, but he was molested by his uncle.
As for being born that way, I believe that we are all born with a predeliction towards doing what God doesn't want us to do, or rather, what feels good for us. Whether that be theft, adultery, or homosexuality. For the record, however, I don't hate homosexuals. I don't agree that their practices are viewed favorably by God, just as I don't agree that adultery or molestation or slander or cheating or flipping someone the bird when they cut you off on the freeway are viewed favorably by God.
Being straight isn't just something expect people to be from religion. Being straight is the standard...something like 90% of the world is straight and not because their religion told them so. Being gay is out of the norm, hence the word "queer". If something happens 90% of the time, I tend to guess that's how it was meant to happen. If 1 out of 10 cats had tails, one would suppose that cats are "wired" to have tails.

I am a Christian, and I too have heard that some Christians believe people choose their sexual orientation. I do not believe that. I believe everybody is designed exactly the way God wants them designed. In His image.
That being said, God also wants us to forsake the sin we have polluted ourselves with and follow Him. He states very clearly that homosexual behavior is a sin. I didn't say it. He did.
Everyone is born with tendancies to do or be certain things. Those tendancies can be used for God's purpose to grow His Kingdom of love and mercy or they can be used for satan's purpose to destroy humanity, which he hates.
There is my answer to your question. I doubt if I'll win best answer.

Of course they do, just how the garnished all their other beliefs. You can scientifically disprove most of the bible, and many things in the Quran, some people need to be told how to live.
If you will look at brother sister/twin studies
In brother sister pairs where one member is gay, the other is usually not.
In twin studies the percentage goes up considerable.
And in Identical twins the majority of identical twin pairs where one member is homosexual the other is also homosexual.

new evidence suggests that gay people are born that way when they are connected to a larger than average family ...
when the female side of the family has produced more males than females
it seems this is nature ( or Gods ) way of population control ... rather than something people choose
that makes perfect sense for me

Yes, there is so much ignorance out there. Anyone who knows a gay person knows that he or she did not choose to be that way. They know they are gay the same way a person who is straight has always known that he is straight.

When would homosexual learn that there are NO homosexual genes? They need to learn to understand scientific/research terminology. And this also goes for heterosexuals.
