I don't really believe in religion. I believe in a relationship with Jesus Christ. I'm just curious as to what other people believe.

I am not one to choose "religion" but I do choose to believe in Jesus Christ as the son of God. (aka Christianity) I think religion (what I see as man-made rituals and practices) can cloud our relationship with God and make us lose focus on what we should be doing here on Earth.

Don't believe in religion believe in a person the Lord Jesus Christ. He died for your sins He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. He did it all for you. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Romans 4: 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

I believe that religion has to be geared toward real, live, living as a human. I can't commit to anything that doesn't have a benefit until after I die, except maybe life insurance.
I believe in prayer, meditation, forgiveness, tolerance, love, being "whole", compassion, respect for self and others, the value of social rituals, the need for sacredness in my approach to everyday life, blessings, cleansings, kinship, community and many more of the core beliefs that are found in religions.
I don't belong to any particular religion.
Hopefully, that also means that I don't "not-belong" to any of them either.

I believe that a great many people suffer many years into their life when they are force feed a diet of religion that uses fire and brimstone messages to promote their religious beliefs. As I was. It took many, many years to get past the severe emotional damage caused by "Christians". In quotes b/c rarely have I ever met in my life a person that truly carries the message of peace and love in their heart that Jesus Christ tried to bestow on humanity when he walked the earth.

And there are many other religious teachers that have GREAT messages that all can learn from. However, the messenger is usually someone who is very mis-guided and tries to "force" religion down the gullet of others. We see this with wars, with preachers, with religious peddlers of all kinds.

I call myself an Atheist, for a couple of reasons but I believe there is a higher power and that it is greater than me. And that power is love. But I didn't have it throughout a great portion of my life. It took a childhood riddled with all types of abuse, including spiritual and religious from "religious" fanatics, a developed deep, deep resentment of "God" and HIS messengers, many liquor bottles and almost the complete destruction of myself before a fellow by the name of Bill W. showed me that "God" is love. That's it, that's all and that's all this alcoholic can understand.

I cannot, try as I might, believe in a "God" such is seen in the King James version of the bible.

I can however believe in humans who embody the spirit of Christ, but as I said they are few and far between. The sainted Mother Theresa deserves a statue and it would be the ONE and only religious symbol that I would vote to allow on public property, but it would be alongside, Buddha and Ghandi and other spirtual giants.

I wish you peace and I wish you love, but do NOT try to convert me, I can't afford any more theraphy. And you may not be able to afford the bruise to YOUR psyche that I almost unconsciously bestow upon others who try to convert me.

Peace.

Christianity with Non - Christian Belief Systems along with Native American Spirituality and Ancient Ways all combined.GOD is to big to be in only one place and there are many paths and ways one can get to their destination such as walking, riding a bike, a motorcycle, taking a train, a plane, etc. all will take one to their destination and getting thee is the important thing -- not how.

That Jesus Christ is the ONLY WAY, TRUTH and LIFE- and that no one can come to the Father but through Him- John 14:6

And that unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God- John 3:3

That is being born again of the Spirit of God- washed clean by asking for His forgiveness, and believing that He died on the cross and rose again so that those who believe may live. We have all sinned and fallen short of His glory- Romans 3:23

And the wages of sin is death Romans 6:23

But the free gift of everlasting life is in Jesus Christ!!

It is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and not of yourselves, but it is the gift of God- Ephesians 2:8
(that is for believers!)

I believe we all belong to the same source. By calling yourself anything , you are alienating yourself from people of other faiths. They do the same by calling themselves whatever they believe in. There is nothing wrong in believing and practicing as long as you respect other's practices ( religions I mean). If you believe in Christianity, then you believe in Adam and Eve too. Therefore, you believe we all have the same parents....Believe in yourself first.....and that every being is somehow related....
