For someone who is used to this medication, and tolorates it quite well, would there be any unpleasant side-effects, or would it be basically just go to sleep, and not wake up?

Oh... BTW- Don't give me the 'get counceling' thing. If you don't have the answer to the question... then don't answer.
This situation is not resolvable... constant intense pain 24/7 for over 6 years... doctors cannot do anything more... insurance has been cancelled... and I've literally been down every road possible.
So- just so you know... it's a 'quality of life' issue, that is mine to choose. It's not an 'immediate' concern, but rather, I'm just gathering info for whatever time in the future, when I can no longer tolerate the pain any longer.
Actually... my first choice would be termination by nitrous oxide... you know- happy trails, then just out, cold... permanently.
So please... no more of the 'get help' crap. You have no idea, until or unless you've lived with intense (brings tears to your eyes) non-stop, sleep-preventing pain.

The problem is you can never be sure. You might end up being a vegetable, or have little or no control of your muscles and spend the rest of your life sitting in a wheel chair slobbering on yourself and eating baby food while wearing a dirty diaper. Good luck!

I've heard of this condition--chronic intractable pain. It's hard to believe that nothing can be done. If that's the case the medical establishment should provide euthanasia. You might need to have several doctors and buy some things off insurance to get your hands on a lethal cocktail. Is there any hope this can resolve spontaneously? I hope so. Good luck and may God bless you!

My sister killed herself on Xanax. The coroner's report said lethal levels of xanax. If you get an answer I would like to know. We don't know how many she took. She didn't leave a note so we were wondering if she could have just forgotten she took it and took another one. Or if it was an actually suicide. None of expected this.

I had a friend who tried to kill herself taking xanax...notice I say tried...She vomited after she was unconscious, inhaled the vomit into her lungs, she is still alive but will be on life support for the rest of her life she's 22 years old.. Her lungs are so damaged she can't breath on her own. Not a smart thing to try. If your feeling suicidal get some help. Call the crisis line. Death is perminent, your problems can be solved.

You don't really want that answer . Get some counseling We are here for you. Just hang in there and call a friend, get involved with activities. You know that these moments will pass if you get your mind elsewhere! My former boyfriend took his own life! It hurts those you leave behind in ways you'll never know! I felt it was my fault, his Mother felt it was her fault, please don't do this. I know that at times you fell like life just isn't worth the fight. People care about you! When Andy died I wanted to join him but I fought for life even though many times I don't fell like I want to go on! Others know what you are going through keep posting and we will keep replying!

Do you know what you are really asking? I think you do. If We would answer that question, we would be justified as trying to help you commit suicide. No Way.

There are lots of programs that can help you out their: Weight loss progams, Gastric Bypass surgery, diet pills, etc. See Aprofessional and
remember that the bible says if you kill yourself,
you go to hell. I don't think you'd want that. Chek
out the groups in your area and good luck.
