It's pink eye! Very contagious. I just had that last week, a lot of eye mucus draining out of my eye! Yuck! They gave me some eye drops and it went away.

I have had this happen before too. As a matter of fact, today when I woke up my lip was swollen.
I doubt it's a spider bite; if it was you would be able to see where the spider bit you (little red mark with skin sloughing away around it). I think that you are probably having an allergic reaction to something. If it itches or the swelling gets worse, take an antihistamine like Benadryl (unless your doctor has told you not to take this medication).

This is a symptom related to pink eye, allergic reaction, or just an eye infection. If it is pink eye it is SEVERELY contagious and you should see a doctor for some antibiotics. Its most likely not an allergic reaction. Most of the time they do not just affect one small area. If your face came in contact with something you were allergic to, their would be swelling in the entire facial area. Eye infections are pretty common. It could be that you just had an eyelash fall into the eye while you were sleeping. Again, for this you should talk to a doctor. They will prescribe you an antibiotic to clear it up.

it very likely is a spider or some sort of bug bite, spiders do bite in Canada, while it may not kill you it can cause a reaction just like the one you have. I live in Canada as well

Your vet should have an emergency number to contact another vet within the area. Try calling his phone number or look up another vet within the area. Worse comes to worse, take the cat to a kennel and if no help is given there then take the cat to a human hospital. they should be able to point you in the right direction. hope this helps.

Do you remember last night? Where were you when you started drinking? Go back there and talk to the bouncers, see if you got hit there and if not where you went next. Follow this path until you find the person who hit you, then thank them for the souvenir to help remember your great night.

you were probly around something that you were allergic to. That happens to me often. just think of what you were around the day b4 and make a connection to the swollen eye.

This has happened to me in the am. also, it is
most likely an 'allergic' reaction; could be any
thing on your pillowcase, sheet, my lip was
swollen so bad one morning, I was panicky,
so you should see your dr. for med. or shots.
