They could take part in the Shoebox appeal by the Samaritans, where you fill a shoebox with gifts for children who do not receive anything for Christmas and the Samaritans distibute them! They sent 1.8 million boxes out last year and I decided that this year, I wanted to be a part of that and that this year on Christmas day, I wont just be at home sharing Xmas with my family, I will also be sharing Xmas with a child somewhere in the world who would have otherwise not received anything.
I also plan to carry this on each year with my son, as a tradition, to help him understand not all children are as lucky as him and for him also to either put a little of his pocet money towards the box or to give one of his own toys to go in the box.

I did some of those shoe boxes .I cried when i read the list with the suggestions about what can go in them and it said that for many of the children its the only present they have ever had its a very good and worthwhile charity ,even if it can`t solve world problems you know that what you give is going to give a child at least a few hours happiness .The only thing is i think it might be too late for this year they have to go in November .
