My hubby and I were going out to breakfast at IHOP, on our way there, I noticed a bunch or cars at Applebees, (I did not think they served breakfast), so we we there to eat, and to our surprise it was a fundraiser for Special Olympics. We had some nice pancakes for $6, and when we left, we gave them an extra $20, and told them how much better the service was than usual. Felt good!

I know that is a small thing, but they all add up to the world being a better place.

There is quite possibly no such thing as altruism, or doing good deeds with no personal reward. Every deed is inherently selfish. And I think the altruists were all killed out; Darwin's law of natural selection at work!

It's all about survival. However, there is a law of reciprocation, where someone does someone good for you and you do the same for them. Also doing a good deed can set off a pleasure center in the brain, which is a reward in itself. So no one does something for no reason, just to be "nice".

Well, it's only like 10am, and it's Saturday. But I made my daughter breakfast, and I've done my best to answer questions without being too sarcastic or disrespectful. Ask me later on today, I might have more.

Hmm, lemme think....

thinking....pondering....good deeds?....lemme see....uh....nope, can't say I've done any good deeds. Matter of fact, I don't think I ever do good deeds.

To paraphrase that line in Bogart's "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre"

Deeds? What deeds? I don't know no good deeds. I don't need no stinkin' deeds!!
