how come i cant use my debit card in you personals for dating?

i signed up for the yahoo personals and filled in everything and it would not take my debie card for the charge. i do not have a credit card and i use the debit cards i have for everything. tell me why it would not work?

Coincidence of sorts. Debit is officially the tender of credit
cards, master cards(office + home business) , and trade
balance cards. Also debit cards are paid ahead in most cards.
In some cards they are budgetted, so rather than start another
service clubs like YAHOO, need to set the limits and it is not
you that is not allowed, it is the type of use. If you think about
it, a debit can get cash, get trade, get accepted in some
services. AHHH places that do accept debit on line have made
agreements. Yahoo is not one of their partners. Yahoo sells
some stuff, so the controlling body is who will take each card
for what reasons. Sign up is not one of the services offered
and covered with debit agreement. You can probably mail
in a money order, or buy a bank check.

In the U.S. your debit card has to have a Visa and/or MasterCard logo. Also In the U.S. and some countries. Some merchants require you to have Address Verification. This is to helps with fraud. So you need to check your address that you use with yahoo and the address that the bank put on your debit card. To see if it is the same. Yahoo may require CVV. That is the 3 digits on the back of your card. Some banks may be blocking Yahoo personals it is very hard if not impossible to stop recurring charges.

Yahoo may do what appears to be a double charge. It actually an authorization and the actual purchase done at the same time. So it may look like $18, when it actual $9.00 the extra $9.00 will be remove in about a week. This could cause your card to get denied if you only had $11 in the account.
