I agree that people are really too rude. I deal with the public at work, and people talk to me in ways they would never even talk to their worst enemies. I think a lot of it has to do with stress and frustration -- everyone thinks they're problem is the most important, most pressing in the world. And it is, to them. Just remember that no matter how rude other people are to you, the best thing you can do is dose them with kindness. Smile, speak softly and let them know that no matter what kind of crap they're dealing with, it's really not your fault.

Becase NOT everyone is doing their best out there. Many people are just skating by on with the least amount of effort possible, living off the fruits of the few who DO put forth their very best and live an excuse free life.

So many people are so self absorbed and selfish that they feel they are alone in the world and have no consideration for others, none. It really is a shame. We are forced to share this world and personally it takes the least amount of effort just to be descent to one another. How come Barney teaches about good manners and where and when does that concept get lost?

Largely because every ISN'T doing their best! Quite a few aren't even doing the basic stuff. And the rest of us get tired of supporting it.

Sorry, this isn't aimed at you - I've just had my ear bitten (figuratively) for the third time by someone who called me rude because I didn't give her money for her family's Thanksgiving dinner. And no, she's not my family, or even my friend! Just an acquaintance who tries to get everyone else to support her and her family.

Well people are so rude because this world is a very harsh place to live in. Sometimes people have to be mean because if you are very nice, people tend to take advantage of you.

People who are rude usually have low self esteem and feel threatened. Foil their attempts with a smile and a simple "thank you."

probably something bad happened to them before you met that person and that person turned all his emotions on you, so just try to undertand that person might have been through a very bad day

They are merely trying to get attention.
