First call your police dept on the non-emergency line (not 911) and ask where the local shelter is. They'll tell you.
Second make up some flyers and post them near parks and supermarkets. Make sure the word REWARD is large and LOST DOG.
Third post an ad in the free newspaper everyone uses.
Fourth call your local radio stations. They usually have notices of lost and found animals on an early morning program.
Hope you find your dog.

Make sure you put up fliers of your lost dog at all the pet stores near you. Contact the local vets and tell them and ask if you can bring a flier in there. Also, let your local police know. If someone calls that they found it then they can help you both out.
Also, go to google and type in your city and animal shelters and see what comes up.
Good luck!

I don`t have any good advice other than to keep on looking and not give up hope. The sad thing here is that how did you lose your dog, was it loose roaming the neighborhood? Or did some one actually come on your property to take it? If it was roaming why was it loose? You need to give all the particulars when posting as you may be the one responsible. I do hope you find it though, but if it was your own fault I hope you learn from this. Good Luck and God Bless

www.petfinder.org
Has a listing of all shelters and rescues in your state. just punch in zip code/.
You can also post a Lost dog ad on the classified section there. And look at the found ads, someone may have found him already.

Try calling local vets and shelters you never know where it will turn up but if enough places are aware you have a better chance of getting it back and give out pictures too.
good luck

It happens, but some people steal a pet and a wait for ads in the newspapers to offer the criminal a finders fee
