Biting your taste buds off?

this is true not just a stupid question!!
ok weird bad habit ? my friend bites off her taste buds when she is board or nervous kinda just like some one biting there nails would some times she does now even realize she is doing it. is it bad for her? what would cause her to do this? just wondering i have never heard of any one doing this before!

I have done thise before.. its just like when you bite your tongue and blood comes out.. or burning your tongue.. the taste buds grow back, unless there is something else preventing it.

Umm... Can you taste? Well I guess since there are lots... But anyways, it's just a habit. Try spreading and unspreading your fingers or pinching them or something. Or maybe curling your toes instead of biting yourself.

That sounds painful! Does she have some issues she's not out with? Abuse or something? Maybe she should talk to someone about it. It's not as obvious as cutting herself, but it's nearly as destructive, I should think. And there are so many germs in a person's mouth you'd think she'd get infections.
