I'm trying to develop a really good chili recipie. What can I put in it to make it stand out? I'm not looking for anything too spicy, just something for taste!

Roasted Sumac, a Turkish spice, gives a warm smoky flavor..a bit spicy, and never used in chili here..I use it and everyone wants to know how to make my chili!
Cumin, chili powder, onion powder..all used on a regular basis, but the sumac is a great addition to all the above.

I make my chili with all the usual beans, meat and veggies, along with cumin and chili powder... but I buy a small can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce, and add just 2 of them before I leave it to cook. You can fish them out before serving, and it gives a good smoky flavor to the chili without making it too hot!

1 chopped red pepper
I use 2 packets of McCormick chili seasoning

Add cumin (you probably already do) Chorizo satue with your meat before adding it has some oils, and for that true chili add some masa flour when you thicken the sauce.
