My daughter chose McDougalls Bang on the Door Fairy cake mix. She liked the packet. It was quite a performance for simple fairy cakes! You couldn't make it manually either - I had to get the hand-whisk out after the wooden spoon wasn't working.
When finally the cakes were made the sponge wasn't that nice! Perhaps the manufacturer want to stop kids eating cakes! I would welcome your comments or alternative cake mixes to try.

I make cakes with my 3 year old daughter every weekend, we have used nearly all the kiddies cake mixture packets.. from post man Pat, Disney princess, m&m's cookie kit, Dora and many more !!!
She enjoys helping mix the cake mixture, placing the cake cases on a tray & finally sprinkling or placing the decoration's on top of the icing.
After she has finished making them, she offer's them to her big sister & mum.. her face all lights up when we tell her how beautiful they look & how yummy they are !!!
You ask for alternative cake mixes, the only one's I can think off are ... GREEN'S, VICTORIA FOODS & SUPER COOK..

My son has made me get the Thomas the Tank Engine ones before along with Scooby Doo, they are ok to make but I prefer making my own rather than the packet stuff. My son is only 3 and got bored quickly making them from scratch but enjoyed making the packet ones much more as they had the icing shapes to go on the top along with a free toy inside the box of ingredients.

sainsburys sponge mix own brand only 27p i thought it was gonna be sh it but you know it made wicked fairy cakes
