Wild Rice Stuffing, rice, green beans, curried vegetables, cranberry sauce and a red or black current sauce, duck sauce, green salad with apples, stuffed mushrooms, plus appetizers and pies would be good. A honey glaze on the fowl would be divine.

If you are making turkey, then the best sides are fresh mashed potatoes and stuffing cooked inside the turkey.

If you are making duck then the best sides are root vegetables cooked in the ducks fat. Duck is a very fatty bird to cook so you need to cut tiny slots in the skin and use a slow oven to cook. There will be alot of fat in the pan. Instead of draining that fat and disposing of it, you can make delicious side dishes by putting various vegetables in the pan to cook with the duck. Fresh carrots, for example will come out very nice this way as will potatoes.
