There is no original bible - only a collection of books that have been rewritten, translated, rewritten, edited, translated, rewritten, edited, omitted, deleted, translated, rephrased, edited and translated. The early Christian church determined that the laity were not fit to read the New Testament, that only the Church per se could interpret it.

Well, it's true that we aren't reading the originals anymore, but that's why copies were made, cause things don't last forever. But the scribes copied these manuscripts, not from looking at the words, memorizing them and copying them down like we do today. The wrote them letter by letter. They would look at a letter write it down, look at the next letter, and so on. There have been many manuscripts copied this way. If you have 300 different manuscripts of the same passage and 2 of them say something different somewhere, you still have 298 manuscripts that tell you what should've been written there.

They looked to the "Scriptures" so yes the Bible is the Word of God- It even says in the New Testament that those who walked with the Lord always referred to the scriptures. Scriptures of the Old Testament for them- And those in the Old Testament. Then then New Testament was written. There are original documents in Hebrew and Greek text. They have been translated for our understanding but NOT CHANGED. If you really want to know- Go take the King James Version and go online to Blueletterbible.org and compare scriptures to those written in the Hebrew and Greek text.

no faith isn't blind. by praying to God and protecting an in intensity connection, you may actual tell which parts of the Bible must be dealt with actually, and which parts must be dealt with as a literal message.

Thinking is what gets us in trouble. The original is in another language and would have to be translated so you could understand. In other words, rewritten. We need to focus on the bigger picture which is there is a God and he loves us, wants us to worship Him and seek guidance for our lives from Him. Once we start using our brains and questioning everything, we get ourselves in trouble. Men are deceitful and will try to steer us wrong. Pray to God for guidance. lol.

I studied in Greek, but it's so hard for me to understand. I like the New International Version for it's accuracy in translation. The scholars who translated for the New International Version actually had to translate the texts separately - if there were any differences, they had to re-translate until they matched perfectly - it's a pretty good translation.

Stop picking on the Christians. They feel the way they do because they have been told that God is a judgmental punishing Jerk. Just because they have been mislead into believing this nonsense is no reason to be making fun of them. Remember most of them were told this as little children when they were to young to be able to look at this from a logical basis and see it for the nonsense that it is.

We need to do what we can to make them realize that God loves each and every one of us or we would not be here.

You can’t help them by being nasty and making fun of what they believe in. The best we can do is try to lead them to the truth by example. If they see us responding lovingly to situations where they have been trained to attack or be defensive, hopefully they will notice and start to understand the True meaning of the message Jesus left for us.

Rather than the judgmental message their religion teaches.

We need to remember what Jesus said. Judge not, love our enemies, Turn the other cheek, and love our neighbors as our selves. Remember Christians are our neighbors too. We need to love them as Brother Jesus asks us to do.

Love and blessings Don

We do have access to the original bible but most can't read it for themselves because it is in a different language so we have no choice but to rely on interpreters and scholars who can read it...

It's not really that difficult to figure out.
