Your question is a good one. How does God view suicide?
Jehovah God as the source of life has decreed that human life is precious, sacred. (Gen. 9:5; Ps. 36:9) Hence, suicide, which means the taking of one’s own life, or killing oneself, is condemned by the Bible. Such intentional act is self-murder. (Ex. 20:13; 1 John 3:15) The few suicides mentioned in the Bible are of those who were unfaithful to Jehovah and who failed to consider that their lives really belonged to God.—1 Sam. 31:4; 2 Sam. 17:5-14, 23; 1 Ki. 16:18; Matt. 27:5.
One who intentionally takes his own life does so in utter disregard for the sacredness of life; he becomes bloodguilty. When one commits suicide while in possession of one’s mental faculties, this shows one to be void of morality, lacking faith, having no fear of God. It is a cowardly act, where one refuses to face up to the problems and responsibilities of life. If the person claimed to be a true Christian, the act would violently break his relationship with Jehovah. Suicide may be the giving in to pressures from demons who encourage self-destruction. (Matt. 17:14-18) This extremely self-centered act of murder manifests no love for one’s surviving family members, no love for one’s congregation and friends, and no love even for the surrounding community, as it brings shame and distress of mind upon all associates.—Mark 12:31.
When a suicide happens, circumstances must always be taken into consideration. Was there mental illness involved? Was the person in his right mind? Was he culpable or blameworthy? In many instances it is difficult to get to know all the facts.
As lovers of righteousness we leave the matter in the hands of a merciful, loving and all-wise God as to any possible future for some of those driven to suicide. We who are lovers of life, holding every day of life sacred, endeavor to conduct our daily affairs and associations in a way that will merit the approval of the One who gave life to humankind.

Regarding hell---all people both good and bad go to the Bible hell. It is mankind's common grave. What Scriptures prove this? Here are a few:
Psalm 139:8--"If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there."
Amos 9:2--"Though they dig into hell, From there My hand shall take them; Though they climb up to heaven, From there I will bring them down."
Jonah 2:2--"And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice."
Revelation 1:18--"I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death."
Psalms 146:3,4--"Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish." [ The dead cannot feel anything, neither pain nor pleasure for they have no thoughts ]
Ecclesiastes 3:19-20--"For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again." [ So what happens to both people and animals when they die? They all go to the same place.]
Revelation 20:13-14--"And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death." (Hell delivers up the dead, meaning a resurrection from the grave, and what happens to death & hell? They are thrown into the lake of fire, meaning total destruction.

At one time, that was a very common belief that was used to hopefully prevent someone from committing suicide. In the Jewish religion if a person took their own life, they were supposed to be buried in the back of the cemetery in the last row or two. Many Catholics believed if you took your own life, you went straight to hell. Today, most religions believe that in order to take your life, you must be mentally ill, and, mental illness is the same as physical illness, so the person really did not know what they were doing, so they are forgiven. At one time if people showed signs of mental illness, they were put in an institution. Today, there are many medications that help them and let them live a normal life. Just as a side note, if you know of anyone who you may feel is thinking of suicide, there is plenty of help available and I would get that for them. One day they will be grateful for this.

i think of "god" would have a difficulty with semantics and loopholes. i think of people who think of they might commit some variety of transgression and then only pray away the "sin" have already neglected the mark with that reasoning. In my Christian days i presumed it a sin to commit suicide, in spite of the undeniable fact that it relatively is no longer for me or the different individual to ascertain if this is an computerized sentence to hell. i'm now no longer Christian yet am only attempting to respond to the question to the better of my potential. the perfect difficulty i will say (and oddly sufficient that's something that I discovered from my Christian days and nevertheless locate clever): 'suicide is an enduring answer to a short-term problem'. because of the fact you stated your melancholy you're possibly considering this. unsure what you're depressed approximately yet while i've got discovered something by way of my studies i've got discovered that in case you bear this you may result giggling at your self or thinking that those innovations you have now are silly sooner or later. i've got been there.

Depends on if the person was born of God or not. Suicide isn't a habitual sin. But lies lead to it. Believing lies about yourself or in unforgiveness.

When persons are born of God, persons are Christ righteousness. There are born again Christians out there who don't know who they are in Christ. That they cannot make themselves more or less righteous by what they do. They have been clothed in Christ righteousness, His redeeming Blood. Jesus has already overcame death & hell for them. But when an immature Christian succumbs to the devils lies, false accusations, Christian may have suicidal thoughts. Person grieves the Holy Spirit who has sealed them for the day of redemption.

If commits suicide, born of God Christian gets to go to heaven, but lies & unforgiveness doesn't go with them. Sin gets fried. They also don't get rewards the Lord had desired to give them.

But if a person commits suicide who rejected the Lord Jesus Saving Grace message, person will automatically go to hells gates.

I had asked God about this when my cousin committed suicide, who I believe became a born again christian when he was younger. I had joyful assurance in my spirit that he was in heaven with the Lord. And the answer I give you is the understanding I received from the Lord.

Really, I don't know...and it's not for me to decide. Only God knows all the aspects of that particlar persons life and only God knows where that person's heart says they should be. (God doesn't "send" people to hell, hell is where people who don't love God end up because they don't want to be with God in heaven.)
That being said, suicide is an extremely selfish act...one might consider it the the most selfish act. One's own existence is the only thing anyone has near omnipotence over. Suicide kills a persons body, but it leaves wounds in everyone that person has every touched, smiled at or said hello to. Ask yourself, then, if such a person who is willing to harm so many people is in love with God.

I know a person who commits suicide returns to earth almost immediately to once again heal that which they were sent to heal before they committed them selves to severe karma. Hell is a perspective and a scare tactic brewed up by catholicism to control the masses. Hell is when you are separate from the Great Creator/God/Source.....................When you face yourself and go with in and feel God then we do not can not take our lives and we make a different choice. It is all the crap that has been pied on us that is feeding on us that makes want to do the deed. We we can bring the light of the Truth into our lives the evil can not co-exist/ the evil perception of the illusion is no longer able to be present.

I think that anyone who commits suicide was totally lost and didn't have faith. A true Christian would know that God's will was being done in their life. They would pray and hear God's word and that would help them through their time of need. That would be why they went to Hell...for not being a believer.

I would be of that mindset, however, there are exceptions such as mental incapability to conceptualize the consequences of committing a permanent solution of a temporary problem if one has a chemical imbalance in the brain.

This is the teaching of the Church. However, the God that I know is a God of Love and compassion. I think that if a person commits suicide that they are mentally ill or temporarily depressed. I would hope that a God of compassion would have mercy upon them.

PS. If you are asking because you feel this way, please call Community Mental Health Crisis line and talk to someone. Life is meant to enjoy, and you can find happiness.

Over 60% of suicides are carried out under clinical depression. Which for those of you who don't know, is a change in the brain which allows you little to no control of your mental thoughts and actions.

So this question is useless, those who say yes have never been through clinical depression.
