hell no!
if she is blinded by his sober charms, she may think she is powerful or wonderful enough to keep him that way.
and wonderful as your friend may be, he will not stop his habit for her. the more she gets close to this guy, the more of a roller-coaster she is in for.
unfortunately, because of her nurturing spirit, she might decide to learn for herself on this one.

No thats extremely DANGEROUS! If I was you I would stay on this one hard! She does not need to be with him! He may be nice when he is sober BUT what about when he is not! You should point out to her if he isn't going to go and get professional help then she needs to run and not look back! this is her life we're talking about and honey the saying is true you ca't teach a old dog new tricks! If he is like this now chances are he always will be! Is she willing to die fo him? Cause there is a good chance he will only get worse and broken legs will be the least of her worries

OK...well i am a freshman in highschool and actually dated a Christian guy like that which is totally opposite of the way i am because i didnt know he was like that. i saw him when he was being good...but he has been to jail as a drug dealer and used to use girls all the time. i didnt know that or i probably wouldnt have gone out with him. but the point is is that if he had been willing to put everything behind him and never look back i think it might have worked. instead, my frinds and i got the impression that he wanted to use me. i was just trying to give him a chance...and maybe that is what your friend is doing. it may seem wierd, but if he is willing to give it all up for her it is worth it

I wouldn't go out with him. I don't care how nice he is when he is sober. When he is drunk, that's the problem. He could get abusive and hit the girl or worse, seriously injure her. Get her away from him!!!!!!!!
Also, just how nice can he be for breaking someone's leg??!?! Don't be foolish!!!

i would never go out with someone who is violent! not even if it is only when they are drunk.....if you get help in that area maybe a girl would go out with you.....also i think there is more to the story about just breaking a someones leg.....were you drunk and abusive when you did it?

Um no. Why would anyone want to?
But you can't tell your friend this cos she won't want to listen. The more you tell someone not to do something the more they want to do it.
Just be there for her and be a good friend and help her out of it when she realises what she's got into.
She'll be glad she's got such a good mate.

If he'd promise to change and make a progress effort I'd try...
If he starts hurting me and wouldnt change no matter how I've been patient to wait I'd move across town and call the cops for security

Sounds like she is going to have to learn the hard way. Make a stand and try to do something about it, even just telling her what a problem he is going to be, but then all you can do is hope she sees sense. I hope she survives in one piece.

No! He is clearly trouble!
All you can do is tell her what you think, show her this page, and be around for her when it all gos wrong if she insists on going with this guy who is obviously dangerous!
Maybe ask her what advice she would give you in the same situation? and see how she manages to answer.
