hmmm, perhaps. You need to define "tipsy". Is it a term people have come up with so they are now not inebriated just because it is not so strong a word? It is true Jesus converted water to wine (John2:3-11) just no mention of him drinking any, so we do not know, for a certaint. If he did drink some, he did not get drunk because that is not condoned (1Cor6:9-11). Timothy was also counseled to drink a little wine for his stomach (1Tim5:23), so for a certainty, from both of these, we know having a drink is OK.
Therefore, it is a conscience matter with respect as to whether one has got a little too "tipsy" and whether we may offend another, which is in and of itself, inappropriate. (1Cor8:7-13)

i don't think that drinking or getting tipsy is a sin however Christians should not partake in such wordly things. it can be a stumbing block to those who are seeking the truth. and the bible speaks alot about self control and people who drink. i do believe that it is sinful to get sloppy drunk because the bible says that we are not to get drunk Eph 5:18. there several scriptures that you can read i will give you a few that deal with this issue. luke 21:34, rom 13:13, gal 5:21, ps 69:12,Joel 1:5, 1 cor 5:11 to name few.
