Carob is a chocolate substitute, My grandfather couldn't eat chocolate either, so we used to buy him Carob. I personally think Carob is just as good, if not better, than real chocolate. You should be able to find it at your local nutrition or health food store. Make a few phone calls and see what you can come up with.

Most nutrition shops carry carob items. It's not chocolate, but has a chocolaty taste. I even found powdered carob for making "hot cocoa" and it's delicious. It tastes lighter than chocolate, but is still great!

Health food stores the best variety.
Also known as St John's Bread, the flesh of the pods tastes somewhat similar to sweetened cocoa, but contains no theobromine or other psychoactive substances and is often used as a hypoallergenic, drug-free substitute.
