my leg is broken and how long do I have to keep this cast on

Depending on the severity of the brake I have patients wear them for 6-8 weeks . 4 weeks if it is just a stress fracture and than get them into some sort of brace.

It depends on the nature of the break, some are more serious than others. But you gotta be sure to keep it on until the doc OK's it come off. Trust me, I've broke many bones! If it comes off too early, the fracture will not heal correctly, causing pain or discomfort for a very long time, or possibly weakening the bone and causing it to fracture more easily in the future. Hang in there.

That depends on the break and the severity of the break and what all was damaged around the bone that was broken such as did you tear a ligament or tendon or tear any muscles? It also depends on if you are a diabetic or not. People who have diabetes tend to heal slower than those who do not have diabetes. Your doctor should have told you how long you will have to wear your cast. Ask him or her and they should tell you.

It depends on what was broken and how bad the break is. The doc should have told you this before you ever left the office or if he forgets to tell you then it is your responsibility to speak up and ask him. Monday call his office and talk to his nurse so she can ask him how long he plans on leaving your cast on and what other treatment you will need. Next time ask before you leave the office or ER.

I had surgery on my right ankle and the doctor put a cast on my leg and it had to stay there for 6 weeks. Alot of it depends on how quickly your bones heal.

Just depends on how bad it is broken.....usually about 6 to 8 weeks, but that can always change.
