Unitarian Universalism
The Principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association
We, the member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and promote
* The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
* Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
* Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
* A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
* The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
* The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all;
* Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
The living tradition which we share draws from many sources:
* Direct experience of that transcending mystery and wonder, affirmed in all cultures, which moves us to a renewal of the spirit and an openness to the forces which create and uphold life;
* Words and deeds of prophetic women and men which challenge us to confront powers and structures of evil with justice, compassion and the transforming power of love;
* Wisdom from the world's religions which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life;
* Jewish and Christian teachings which call us to respond to God's love by loving our neighbors as ourselves;
* Humanist teachings which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and the results of science, and warn us against idolatries of the mind and spirit;
* Spiritual teachings of Earth-centered traditions which celebrate the sacred circle of life and instruct us to live in harmony with the rhythms of nature.
Grateful for the religious pluralism which enriches and ennobles our faith, we are inspired to deepen our understanding and expand our vision. As free congregations we enter into this covenant, promising to one another our mutual trust and support.

OBEY ALL LAWS, even inconvenient ones, like speed limits when late for work;
PAYING TAXES, rather than claiming religious exemption;
KEEPING THEIR WORD, like to the IRS on not promoting politics in church;
SUCESSFULLY TEACHING YOUTH to wait until marriage instead of having sex for fun and just using protection;
TREATING YOUTH with respect, and not just a "do what you're told!" attitude;
TEACHING YOUTHS the whole Bible, and not just Bible stories, right along side parents;
NOT LETTING INDIVIDUALS get lost in the crowd of an oversize church;
TEACHING EVERYONE the same, making it easier to start a new congregation, with its own set of elders;
MAKES sure every member is evacuated in a natural disaster, such as in Katrina, and not mostly the good contributors;
BUILDS CHURCHES that compliment neighborhoods, lacking large and expensive decorative features;
MAKES HONESTY FIRST. Ask 1000 movie stars the religion of their maids, gardeners, drivers, etc. and see which they say most often.
Answer: Jehovah's Witnesses

The Catholic Religion is supposed to be #1 love God #2 love people. Lately it has been a little watered down like all religions but, basically it is a love for Jesus that attracts me to my Catholic Religion.

To allow people the freedom to choose how to define and practice their religions.
To not define who God is, but to let people find their own way to Him/her.
To unite humans, not to divide them in the name of religion
To never, never, never kill or hurt in the name of religion
To be a servant of a UNIVERSAL God, not the servant of a "man-made" God.
As you can see, I don't believe there is a religion on earth that is fully ethical. I believe that religions are dividers, not unifiers, and such they kill God rather than bring him/her closer to us.
