I have a great cookie recipe. It's pretty simple.

Garage Sale Cookies

4 1/4 c. flour 2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda 1 Tb. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder 12 oz. pkg. semisweet
1 1/4 c. sugar chocolate chips
1 1/4 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. butter, softened

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and baking powder; set aside.

In large mixer bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, and butter. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often til creamy (2-3 min.). Add eggs and vanilla. Continue beating; scraping bowl often, until well mixed. (1 min.).

Reduce speed to low, continue beating, gradually adding flour mixture until well mixed, (2-03 min.). By hand, stir in chocolate chips.

Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls 2 inches apart onto cookie sheets. Bake in preheated oven for 10-14 min.; remove from cookie sheets.

Depends on what you want to make. Cookies are easy for a beginning baker. Here's a tip: While the oven is preheating, put the cookie sheet(s) in to warm up too. I've heard many people complain that the first batch they put in don't cook as well as those to follow. Preheating the sheets with the oven helps this.
