Human Nature. It's just a head trip that humans do, to get the attention "off "of
their own screw ups.
Oddly though, talking about others, only "gets" the attention on them!

a hypocrite is someone who says and preaches and tells others what they think or do or believe and yet they then do the exact opposite of what they have been preaching .
it is very difficult to stand up and say that what you are or that you do something or believe a certain way and then hold true to it .
i totally believe people should try to live up to what they say to others ,,,,,,,,,it truly is why people get so angry with different religions ,,,,,,,they say this or that but then they do something evil or totally against what they have been preaching to others ,,,,it is very sad to say the least ,,,,,being a hypocrite truly is a cowards way out ...............it is hard to be who we are and believe the way we want to believe in todays world because everyone goes around judging and basically telling you that your going to hell for meditating or whatever ????because it is different ?????people do not know how to accpet others or tolerate differences ,,,,,,,,hypocrites really are all about blaming and judging others simply because they can and yet when push comes to shove they will do the very same evilness they have warned about [judging is just the one of many things ].

Well its easy to point out when someone is being a hypocrite because we don't like looking at ourselves and seeing our own error. Its fun and easy to pick on other people (supposedly). That's why whenever I discuss religion, I try to never mention the actual followers of a religion, just the religion itself. As humans, anyone can make mistakes and if their religion advocates perfection and righteousness, it is easy to see how a religion's followers "fall short" of the mark. Besides, even if you prove someone is not living up to the message of their religion, all you do is just show how holy and righteous their religion really is.

It's always easy to point out someone else's faults. In the Bible -I can't tell you where it is in the Bible, but I know it's there - there's a passage that says something like:
"Don't tell you neighbor to remove the speck in his eye. First, remove the plank in yours."
It's human nature to be point the blame at others, but self reflection is another story. Just like you asked the question, I'm sure you've been guilty of holding fault on someone. We all need to look at the planks in our eyes.

I think it's easier to call others hypocrites than admit to oneself that you're a hypocrite as well. There isn't a person living who, at one point in time, has not said one thing but does another.

Don't dwell on it! Live your Christian life as you should. Don't bother about what others think.

Because people do what they believe to be in their best interest, and sometimes they have to behave hypocritically to do so!
