Have painted the ceiling and coving in the spare room, 3/4 painted the walls and need to do loads more to the house by next Tuesday when my friends arrive to stay! Have had a Brandy and coke and something to eat (3.30pm) and feel like chilling now, but I must not!!! Get me going!!! thanks xx

Right ive decided that at 4pm Im starting again! Fair enough now! I have not stopped since 8am!

OOOH! a Paint party! Great Idea! only problem is I am taking them sight seeing tue-fri then other friends from Scotland arrive and we are off on a booze cruise! HIC!

COME ON NOW GET OFF YOU BACKSIDE AND GIVE IT SOME ELBOW GREASE!!!!! You dont want to leave it all to the last minute and have to rush it and make a bad job of it. You could even make a mistake if you have to rush, and then you will be wasting precious time clearing it up.
Come on go do a good job and revel in your friends praises when they arrive and say how nice it looks. It will be worth it in the end. Then you can really chill out and relax when the task is done. Good luck. Let us know how it goes. :o) x

Girl,you've done abso-frickin-lutely loads already!!! It's Saturday hun,relax a bit and pace yourself. Otherwise you'll be wiped out by the time your friends get there on Tuesday! Anyway,they are coming to see YOU-not judge your home.
Oooh! Saw your note about the booze cruise! There's your answer-keep 'em drunk so that if your place isn't up to scratch,they won't notice and won't remember anyway! LOL!

Why don't you reward yourself as you are going along. You could have another brandy and coke when you have done the first cat of paint, another when you have done the second. I can guarantee you will never have worked as fast and will probably be drunk by about 8!
It works for me. Good luck with the decorating. Hope this motivates you

Sit and write a list of all the things you need to do to complete then room and then put on some loud music and work through that list ticking off as you go, It will help to see your actually achieving something and hopefully boost your motivation.

Nah save it til your friends come then have a paint party - mask it all up before they come then when they get there give them a glass of wine and a brush!
