As you intend to breed her ~ good job for not wanting to do it on her first heat~ you need to put a "guard" (somewhat like a chastity belt) on her, we used to put cloth diapers on our shepherds, it wasn't always 100% safe but most times we would catch the male before it could get to the female, along with this we would use a lot of fabric softener on the diapers(while washing them) to help with the odor that the female gives off while in heat. there may be something on the market you could buy to guard her. Good Luck

If you have no intentions of breeding them you really should have both fixed. This is just pure torture to them. A female in heat gives off high amounts of pheromones which attracts the males and lets them know she is ready for procreation which is why he's behaving this way. The only thing that wil cure it is her going out of heat. I can only suggest you maybe keep one or the other outside then switch and not let them indoors at the same time. During the night, you'll have to separate them in rooms or else he will get her.

If he does, do NOT separate them!!! When the male penetrates the female, he literally locks in. He becomes completely engorged with blood and it creates a tight seal to keep the semen in place. Pulling them apart will cause severe injury to both dogs and will likely get you bit. If he locks on, you'll just have to wait them plan for puppies.

Welcome to the world of breeding dogs.
NIce to have a sex crazed male dog in the house isnt it?
He will be like that until she is out of heat. About three weeks.
He should either be kenneled or moved off the property or she should.
When I bred years ago I would move the male off the property to stay with a friend when we had a female in season.

sounds like shes old enough now. let them go at it. you wouldn't want to be kept away from your other if you was in heat. as Long as he is with in 3 to 5 miles of her he will know where she is. they can smell a female dog for miles. good luck. hope he don't tear your home up trying to get to her.

Get a neighboor to watch the boy, since he might be a little easier to care for. After all, once he gets away from the female, he'll be normal again, right?

Get one, or both of them fixed. Or see if a family member or friend can take one of them until the female is done her heat cycle.

If you don't want Puppies, talk to your Vet. There are shots for the female, or you may consider getting her spade.
