You might wait a day or 2 and try a color with 'golden' in th description. That will lighten it a little and I think the reddish tint will help. Compare the light golden brown and medium golden brown to see which will work for you. The pictures on the box labeled 'My current shade is/will be' will give you an idea as to how much it will lighten your color. Coloring and/or washing your hair strips the protective oils from the hair and you may cause more damage if you try to recolor right away.

You might also try the Clairol website for expert advice. They will have an 800 number you can call.

Washing it in hot water may help the color fade a bit but you'd have to do it several times. My color always fades too fast because I wash it hot water.

That is a tough one. You may want to recondition your hair with something you leave in for a while, sometimes it pulls the colour from the hair cuticle. Otherwise, I would go to a salon for help.
They can strip it and recolour it. Or, go and have them do a weave, adding some subtle highlights of some browns in there. Dont try to fix it yourself, hair colouring is very tricky business.

Call the 1800 number on the box ask them what color they would recommend you using to get your hair brown and tell them that it is black now if you don't want to do it yourself then go to a salon.

I read somewhere that your best chance of correction is within 24 to72 hours. Get to a salon and see if they can help you right away. I turned my hair a greenish gray once and the girl at the salon was able to fix it. In your case I think you have a good chance.

I am not sure what kind of hair color you used. If it was a semi permanent, just wait and the color will slowly fade away. If it was permanent, you need to go to a hairdresser and she or he needs to use bleach on your hair. But do not do this right away! Wait for a month and do it. The color on your hair is still new and has a strong grasp on your cuticles. After a while, the color will loosen up.

the same thing happened to me! go to a hair salon and tell them what happened and ask them if getting the color stripped would help it takes all fake color out of your hair but kind of leaves it coarse and dry for a while. If it looks ok though i would just wait until it grows out!

omg! im so sorry, its okay, one time i wanted blonde dye and my highlights were a bit orange at first, but i went to the salon ,and that helped. so pay a visit to ur local salon, and for the meantime, act the part of having black hair. dont be insecure about it in front of ppl

nothing you can do yourself. now you need a color correction. this will cost you BIG TIME.
i charge $200 for a color correction to START. the bill starts at $200 and goes up from there at $150 an hour. medium thick hair to the shoulders is typically around $500 - $600. i do probably 3 or 4 a month. (and the clients have always come back to me. i'm their lifesaver and they tell everyone about me. i'm getting so booked up i'll have to raise my prices soon to get rid of a few clients. yes. i'm THAT good.)

either read the box carefully or have it done professionally the first time to save yourself the money and the hastle.
