Tolerance is different than acceptance.
Of coarse there are differences. Of coarse others do many different things. Tolerance is recognizing that.
What the quote really desires is acceptance. We should all be accepting of "what others do". No way. Some things are right, some things are wrong. I can tolerate wrong behavior and beliefs. But don't make me accept them.
And if you were really tolerant, you would ACCEPT my belief. Otherwise, by the above quote, you would be "rigid".

it particularly is actual, even with the indisputable fact that it does no longer mean they are actually not rather christians. maximum people save on with cultural norms like celebrating Easter with bunnies and eggs, even even though it has pagan roots. lack of expertise of the beginning of a trip would not replace the indisputable fact that somebody is a christian. Many christians comprehend the place that stuff got here from, and refuse to take part. additionally, in simple terms by way of fact we take place to have fun in yet in a distinctive way on an identical date, would not tutor that the two party is fake. I have fun the improve of Christ on that day, as nicely as the different Sunday, and the eggs and pastel hues all around me do no longer replace that. i hit upon it humorous that pagans think of that christians are actually not trustworthy or don't think what they say they suspect, in simple terms by way of fact they take place to maintain on with some cultural celebrations that no-one recollects the reason of besides. Counterfeit gold does decrease the fee of actual gold, no longer by way of fact the actual gold replaced, yet by way of fact somebody thought the pretend stuff grew to become into actual and paid good money for it. I save thinking why you men continuously get those issues backwards, yet i assume even smart people could nicely be blinded via a closed suggestions.

In my opinion if it threatens your beliefs then you need to strengthen your faith in your beliefs.The world isn't going to bow down to any one belief until the end.I see opposition as a strengthening force,Like the trees in the wind.If they get blown over it is only because they were not deeply rooted or in loose soil.Take Care and May God Bless You.My choice is (J.C.)

i totally agree with your beautiful statement !
it is refreshing to see the words written :}
i think some our thinking that we must tolerate molesters and murderers when they read this ,,,,but your statement is simply saying [i feel] that one who believes in their faith whatever that might be ,however different it is from ours ,we can see some of the beauty in the differences yet the sameness we all share .
i truly do not think there is only one way to spiritual truth ,i think the only thing we all should share is to love others because of there differences and we might learn something along the way .
certainly there should be little tolerance for people who abuse others,,,,,but if truly you have faith in a higher power you could not indulge in these dark practices ............
excellant eye opening :}
thanks :}

This word tolerance is getting manipulated so much that its lost the true meaning. I don't have to agree with everything in life. I can disagree with respect

Do Not Follow Your Parents' Religion Blindly
http://www.submission.org/suras/sura5.ht...
[5:104] When they are told, "Come to what GOD has revealed, and to the messenger," they say, "What we found our parents doing is sufficient for us." What if their parents knew nothing, and were not guided?
[5:105] O you who believe, you should worry only about your own necks. If the others go astray, they cannot hurt you, as long as you are guided. To GOD is your ultimate destiny, all of you, then He will inform you of everything you had done.

I have a doctorate in comparative religion. Knowledge of the other beliefs only strengthened my belief that Jesus is the one true way. God bless.

Truth doesn't lie in the "differences" between our faiths, but in the
similarities.
Ever see two people talking about the same thing, but describing it
differently, and they were arguing about it?
That is was false pride has done to us through religion. We are all basically
talking about the same thing, but describing it differently, and arguing
about it!
