Take the Air Train to Jamaica. The train stop in Jamaica is Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue/JFK Airport.
Take the E train to Manhattan. These are the stops you'll pass...
Jamaica-Van Wyck /Queens Boulevard
Briarwood-Van Wyck Boulevard /Main Street
Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike /Queens Boulevard
75 Avenue /Queens Boulevard
Forest Hills-71 Avenue /Queens Boulevard
67 Avenue /Queens Boulevard
63 Drive-Rego Park /Queens Boulevard
Woodhaven Boulevard /Queens Boulevard
Grand Avenue-Newtown /Queens Boulevard
Elmhurst Avenue /Broadway
Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue / Broadway

Get off at 74 st, Roosevelt Avenue. Stay on the platform and wait for the F. The F will take you directly to 47-50 Roosevelt Avenue.

Here are the stops for the F train you will pass:

21 Street-Queensbridge /41 Avenue
Roosevelt Island
Lexington Av / 63 Street
57 Street /6 Avenue
47-50 Streets-Rockefeller Center /6 Avenue

This is the easiest way. You don't have to go up any stairs once you get in the train station or run around to transfer from train to train. The E and the F both stop at Roosevelt and use the same track. If you miss that stop you can take the E to West 4th and go down the stairs and take the F heading the other direction to 47-50 street Rockefellar Center

Before you swipe in, ask the person behind the glass for a map. It's free.

Get on the AirTran or the shuttle bus, and go to the Howard Beach JFK subway station. Get on the Manhattan bound A train, and ride it all the way to West 4th St (that's about an hour ride). Then go downstairs and get on the Queens bound F train, and take that to 47th 50th St Rockefeller Center (that's about 10 minutes)

If you have any questions, ask the conductor - the transit worker in a blue cap and uniform in the small booth in the middle of the train - the person who opens and closes the doors, and makes the announcements over the PA system.
