A kidney may be shrunken due to repeated infections. The kidney tissue becomes damaged and is replaced by scar tissue. A kidney may also be small since birth. It will not become normal. Treat the underlying condition and avoid further damage to your kidneys. Drink plenty of water. Get regular investigations done, as suggested by your doctor. These include urinalysis, ultra sound examination, blood urea nitrogen, serum creatinine and others, according to the underlying condition. Good luck!
