There is a Heathrow Hotel Hoppa service which connects Heathrow with local hotels. Tickets can be bought from the self service machines at the airport's bus stops, from the driver or from the hotel. Tickets cost £3, one child 5-15 can travel with an adult and children under 5 travel free.

Various Transport for London local services from western suburbs of London (to terminals 1/2/3 and also to separate terminal 4).
The following go to terminals 1/2/3:- 'First Bus' local services from Slough and other points in Buckinghamshire/Berkshire (74 etc.), Carousel service from High Wycombe, Arriva 724 from Watford, St Albans etc., various local routes from Staines and other points in Surrey. there are other bus companies but i don't think any even Greenline will take you into central London, oh and Hotel Hoppa is part of national express.
