These products seem to do a good job of killing bacteria, but do they also kill common viruses such as Herpes Simplex or stomach viruses?

Being a nursing student and recently taken microbiology, I have actually done an experiment with one of these products. They do not kill viruses because viruses are not alive until they enter the body and obtain a sample of its victims DNA. This is why they are so hard to cure. To answer your question, applying the hand sanitizer alone will not kill germs and bacteria. When applying them you should briskly rub it on your hands. It is the rubbing action along with the ingredients in the sanitizer that kills the bacteria.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).

Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.

The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid?such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

I was tested positive for herpes about six years ago, when I was still in college and had a spupid one night affair. I think a lot of women will say this but believe me I never did that sort of thing. I just made mistake that one time and, suddenly, it looked like I was going to have to live with the burden for the rest of my life. The awful part was feeling I could never meet men again. After all, who wants to date a woman who has sores around her you-know-what? But after somebody showed me this video https://tr.im/zAvPK everything has changed. Not only was I able to eliminate all traces of the herpes virus from my body in less than 15 days, but I was also able to start dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so happy to say that just last week, in front of many people in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This program offered me the chance to be happy again, and to experience true love.

Well in theory they should not kill a virus. They say on the bottle anti bacteria. This means it only kills bacteria. Although some viruses may be killed by it, it just has not been tested on a virus.

Cold sores are caused by the herpes virus. Many of us already have the cold sore virus dormant in our bodies, and never have a flare up of cold sores. We contracted it as children, as it is a very common virus, and children pick it up easily as they often share food and drinks, and may be less concerned about hand washing and hygiene. Cold sores can be transmitted even when the person does not have a cold sore, though it is less likely to happen then.

Well, Purell kills 99.9%of germs and bacteria, but I don't know how well it does on viruses, they can be pretty insidious...You might check with your doctor.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy. Thanks
