I had two yellow puppys dumped on me last yr or almost a year now. The poor things were so depired of food, one of them was said to proably not make it....I still have both of them but I hate when people dump their animals b/c its not fair to people who do care and I have no way of knowing what they are? They both have black gums, they both now have gotton a small line of black on their noses but everyone thinks they are labs? ...What is a way if any, you can tell a yellow lab apart from a black mouth cur ?... then I went hunting down pics on the internet and found a Akbash...now I'm really confused...I know it proably does not matter but I thought I would ask and see....

thanks but the vet said he didnt realy know...they have black on their noses and I dont think labs do..

The chinook looks really close 2 and I see now where they said the full blooded Akbashes are white....thanks

They have black skin also and they do look like the lab pics but more black on the nose and not as black as the usual black mouth curs are...I think your right, possible both but ...I thought if a pup had black gums, that ment they were full blooded??

Hey git em gang or whatever it was, your really rude! the puppys were left out in the rain and the other one couldnt even stand up. whoever had them mistreated them and I doubt it was a neighbor... but to each their own comment. I feel sorry for you, you feel you have to belittle people on here!

Yellow labs that have black or dark features are from a line of black labs. Yellow labs that have the pink nose and gums are called "Dudley labs" and come from a long line of yellow labs. Their noses will get darker in the summer and lighter in the winter

From what I can tell, the BMC will have a more hound-like structure to its body, kind of lean. A Lab will be sturdy, with more meat and fat to him (reflecting lots of water-retrieving history). The Akbash seems to be a white dog, with lots more hair than the BMC or Yellow Lab.
Your pups are very likely labs, considering how common they are now, as the most popular breed in America (IIRC). They may be a mix, mutt, mongrel, whatever, but some answerers should at least say it more nicely since they don't know for certain. Either way, I'd bet you've got two grateful loving dogs. Thanks for keeping them, as my parents did their little Mop-dog, when he was dumped on them.

they are probably lab crosses.. legally however without registration papers they are mutts..
remember in the future if a dog or cat is "dumped" its not necessarily by their owner.. some neighbours steal dogs/cats if they are tired of that animal in their yard or barking or whatever.. you must ALWAYS report finding any animal because you never know how it got there....
anyhow.. they could have 3-4 different breeds in them, but chances are much higher that they are a common breed like labs with say... german shep and chowchow breeding too.....

If you really want to find out, I'm pretty sure you can get a blood test done and I think they can tell you what breed the dog is. Not 100% sure but I did read it on the Net somewhere.

They could be a mix of both, labs have webbed feet (a webbing of skin between their toes) a Curr has a longer, narrower snout, and is a little bit larger than a lab.
