Hello,
From reading your very interesting question I would say the following things to you. no.1) Its very clear you feel very split inside yourself between head and your heart & gut feelings. Being so split inside means making the "right choice" is extremely hard for you right now, I would strongly suggest that you listen to your heart & gut feelings. 2) DONT make any instant decisions about which religious path to follow right now, give yourself enough time for your heart & head to come together. Only when both heart & head agree or are at peace with each other will you know deep down inside yourself which path or religion is right for you.
3) ALL religeous paths have rules & guidelines (or guiding principals) by which to live your life. Dont start out by worrying about all these rules & laws, go slowly along the path you have chosen and only take on the rules & principals if you feel they make complete sense to you.
**Trust your inner feelings, trust your intuition I'm sure you will find the path thats right for you. Remember its a journey of exploration, its an adventure, its mysterious. Its a chance to learn alot about yourself too.
Good luck in your searching my friend, go well.

Wa alaikumussalaam. solid you've time-honored Islam. until eventually you locate anybody who can inform you what you want to understand, purchase a e book that teaches you the technique of salah, fasting etc difficulty-loose issues. practice those daily. And what you're speaking about others who suggested you formerly isn't a lot incorrect i imagine. Ali (RA) replaced right into a very good and major sahabi. So do not take it gently. because you're new to Islam it may not complication you who's Shia or who's Sunni. those are extra political than non secular. And restricted to particular geographical places.

For my, I think I'm altruistic, so I "get that feeling" from feeling that I've helped somebody. I'm not really sure how to help you in That aspect.
You can change into Islam gradually.
I mean the whole social thing, Muslim women should still be social, etc. The Hijab isn't even required, and I wouldn't suggest it to you unless you Really think it's the right thing, and either way, not yet.
One thing though, and I'm being totally serious, don't trust any one source, other than the Qur'an. On any subject, get multiple opinions. That way you can practise Islam that way that YOU want to practise it.
Here's one thing I've always fought with, willpower.
Often I know what's right, for example going to sleep early, doing homework right away, whatever, but I don't have the willpower to do it.
Whatever you focus on, quickly becomes the center of your life.
I often focused and thought about Yahoo Answers, and now I'm totally obsessed with it, and it often over-trumps other, more important aspects of my life.
What you need to do, is to take 5,10, 30 or 45 minutes thinking about what You think is right. Take that time to try to decide, then once you have decided, take immediate action. Focus on doing what's best, for you and others.
Try to decide what you eventually want to do, how social you want to be (parties, alcohol, etc.), how religious(prayer), etc. I wouldn't drink, would pray as many times as possible, but wouldn't wear a hijab. That's my Current, Opinion.
It's your decision, but make sure that once you have decided you ACT on it.
If you decide to become a Muslim, then procede to say the Shadah, which is what makes you a Muslim.
"I pronounce, that there is no god, but The GOD, and I pronounce that Muhammad (PBUH) is his servant and Prophet."
Good luck, Peace.

You need to get close to god. Talk to him. Listen to what he tells you. Nobody else on earth can tell me what he sounds like, so if you have any luck, please let me know. I think he'll have a big booming voice and a scouse accent.

hi there!!
that's fine sister the changes come gradually the most important thing is once you feel that Islam is the truth then you should at least say the shahadah then start changing from there.
if you are sincere about it, ask God to help you ask him to come into your heart and shed his light of truth on you and he will answer. ask sincerely and i guarantee you he'll answer you.
if you have any questions you can contact me.
peace.

Just go thru the New Testament one more time before you do anything. Jesus said that whoever denied Him as being the Son of God, they'd be denying God Himself! Yes, Islam may prohibit all bad stuff, but just double check! They believe that all the prophets were muslim, which includes Abraham who, in actual fact, started Judaism.

Well, you do seem to have been brainwashed very well; or you're just a fake, like the other guy said.
It's your life.
I believe the Islamic Terrorists need more cannon fodder nowadays and women like you, if you're telling the truth, who "convert" are good material for their explosive vests that they give their "heroic" suicide bombers.
Go right ahead and find out for yourself.
