I've been dying it for a while now and I'm naturally ginger, but every time I get a permenant (brown) one it just fades and goes to a horrible copper-rust colour. I don't know whether it would be worth going to the hair dresser's or if it would be more money than is worth (it's pretty expensive where I live). So if anyone knows of a decent one which actually works that would be fab =]

The problem may not be with the brand that you are using. Red shades fade easily. That said, I highly recommend Garnier Nutrisse and Loreal Excellence. These do a great job!
