You know what they say, "Better a chip on a shoulder than a block head." But seriously folks, where did you ever get the idea that Christians go around with a chip on their shoulder? True, there may be some individuals who say they are Christian, but who have never really allowed the love that Jesus gives into their heart. Our Lord has told us that we are to forgive our enemies and pray for them. Of course, we are also supposed to protect our families and not let them get blown up by nut cases with bombs strapped to themselves. That's not caring a chip, that is self-preservation. Stop picking on the Christians. They feel the way they do because they have been told that God is a judgmental punishing Jerk. Just because they have been mislead into believing this nonsense is no reason to be making fun of them. Remember most of them were told this as little children when they were to young to be able to look at this from a logical basis and see it for the nonsense that it is.
We need to do what we can to make them realize that God loves each and every one of us or we would not be here.
You can’t help them by being nasty and making fun of what they believe in. The best we can do is try to lead them to the truth by example. If they see us responding lovingly to situations where they have been trained to attack or be defensive, hopefully they will notice and start to understand the True meaning of the message Jesus left for us.
Rather than the judgmental message their religion teaches.
We need to remember what Jesus said. Judge not, love our enemies, Turn the other cheek, and love our neighbors as our selves. Remember Christians are our neighbors too. We need to love them as Brother Jesus asks us to do.

We should be if we personally put God's friendship in our lives first before anything else and then we can learn to love ourselves, then we shouldn't have a chip on our shoulder. See ya in the funny papers.

Don't know who you're hanging around. But, some are, some aren't. Quit using a general label. There are balanced and unbalanced atheists, Jews, etc. etc.
