Ok, around that time of year it is usually quite chilly and very wet! The rain doesn't stop and it helps bring down the outside temperature. In Jerusalem it gets quite freezing and sometimes even snow. At night you have got to dress very warm! The dead sea will be not as cold during the day, but pretty nasty at night. And Bethlehem will be pretty much like the rest of Israel, cold and rainy! I hope you have a great trip. The weather shouldn't make problems for you, I've been there during that type of weather and it was still great!

I've been there 3 times in November-December and although a bit unstable during Spring, the weather's been glorious at that time of year with beautiful clear, sunny days but cold at night. And it does snow in places in Israel, you know. The area you describe isn't all one climate as Tel Aviv is coastal, the Dead Sea has typical desert weather with blisteringly hot days and freezing nights, and Bethlehem and Jerusalem are up in the Judean hills where it snows.

In December it is rather cold .
Jerusalem is quiet high 750 above sea level-therefore it is colder (around 5-10) the temperature gets sometimes to o deg. and once or twice it snows
Tel Aviv is situated by the sea so is the climate is moderate
Bethlehem is quite similar to Jerusalem
Dead sea - warmer the the others rarely it rains over there.

Jerusalem and Bethlehem might be similar weatherwise, cold, rain but also some sunny days, you do need a coat and some warm things to wear. Tel Aviv is sunnier and warmer, temperatures might be between 16oC at night up to 24oC during the day. Excpect rain but not too bad. Dead Sea has hardly any rain anytime of the year and is the warmest place during the day but cool at night.

December is winter in Israel.
Winter can be cold and rainy as well as sunny.
The Dead Sea is mostly sunny (15c to 25c in day time and cold at night), Jerusalem and Bethlehem are cold (5c to 20c), and Tel Aviv mostly fair (10c to 20c). Its rarely snow in Israel, but it can take place in Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

I would not trust the BBC forecast
Try this one:

In general the weather is a bit unsatble during the first half of December, it can get rainy and cold or sunny and warm.
Best take with you varied clothes, like T shirts but a coat and umbrella too.

Warm. I was there around New Years last year and it was pretty pleasant. "Spring jacket in Quebec" weather at night and a tiny bit of rain, especially in Tel Aviv/ Jaffa.
