Kaaba is the Qibla( i.e. the direction Muslims face during their prayers). It is important to note that though Muslims face the Kaaba during prayers, they do not worship the Kaaba. Muslims worship and bow to none but Allah.

It is mentioned in Chapter 2 of the Quran:

"We see the turning of thy face (for guidance) to the heavens: now shall We turn thee to a Qiblah that shall please thee. Turn then thy face in the direction of the Sacred Mosque: wherever ye are, turn your faces in that direction." [Quran 2:144]

1. Islam believes in fostering unity

For instance, if Muslims want to offer Prayer, it is possible that some may wish to face north, while some may wish to face south. In order to unite Muslims in their worship of the One True God, Muslims, wherever they may be, are asked to face in only one direction (i.e. towards the Kaaba). If some Muslims live towards the west of the Kaaba they face the east. Similarly if they live towards the east of the Kaaba they face the west.

2. Kaaba is at the Centre of the World Map

The Muslims were the first people to draw the map of the world They drew the map with the south facing upwards and north downwards. The Kaaba was at the centre. Later, western cartographers drew the map upside down with the north facing upwards and south downwards. Yet, the Kaaba is at the centre of the world map.

3. Circumambulation around Kaaba for indicating one God

When the Muslims go to the sacred mosque in Makkah, they perform tawaf (circumambulation) round the Kaaba. This act symbolizes the belief and worship of One God, since, just as every circle has one centre, so also there is only one Allah worthy of worship.

4. Saying of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him)

Regarding the black stone, there is a hadith (tradition), attributed to the illustrious companion of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), Umar (may Allah be pleased with him).

According to Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, book of Hajj (Pilgrimage), chapter 56, H.No. 675. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I know that you are a stone and can neither benefit nor harm. Had I not seen the Prophet (pbuh) touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you".

5. People stood on Kaaba and gave the adhaan

At the time of the Prophet, people even stood on the Kaaba and gave the ‘adhaan' or the call to prayer. One may ask those who allege that Muslims worship the
Kaaba; which idol worshipper stands on the idol he worships?

It is because the Kaaba is supposed to be a piece of the MOON that fell to the Earth. Sadly the majority of Muslims do not even realize that they are praying to the pagan MOON GOD:Even though the Quran makes it abundantly clear.
In fact Muhammad even mentions the 3 daughters of Allah. The only 3 daughters you will find is the ones by this names that Allah (the moon god) had with the Sun Goddess.
Yes Muslims are pagans, and do not even realize it.

Qiblah Restored to Mecca

[2:144] We have seen you turning your face about the sky (searching for the right direction). We now assign a Qiblah that is pleasing to you. Henceforth, you shall turn your face towards the Sacred Masjid. Wherever you may be, all of you shall turn your faces towards it. Those who received the previous scripture know that this is the truth from their Lord. GOD is never unaware of anything they do.

[2:145] Even if you show the followers of the scripture every kind of miracle, they will not follow your Qiblah. Nor shall you follow their Qiblah. They do not even follow each others' Qiblah. If you acquiesce to their wishes, after the knowledge that has come to you, you will belong with the transgressors.

____________________________________________________________________
*2:142-145 "Qiblah" is the direction one faces during the Contact Prayers (Salat). When Gabriel conveyed to Muhammad the command to face Jerusalem instead of Mecca, the hypocrites were exposed. The Arabs were strongly prejudiced in favor of the Ka`aba as their "Qiblah." Only the true believers were able to overcome their prejudices; they readily obeyed the messenger.

Actually they think the black rock marks the spot where the one and only God made his covenant with Abraham who is the father of both the Arabs and the Jews. If you had ever read the bible or anything you should know this!

I was actually wondering why do they show their @$$3$ to the sky when they pray?

Saw it in a movie once and I died laughing!?

Edit:

OMG!? What "sanctimonious" BS are these Muslims dishing out here?

If the stone is in the Ka'aba thingy, why are they denying it? Center of the World? What a laugh!?

Seems they just want to make their "Religion" seem Great.

Well, the whole world knows them for what they really are.
