what is the userdata folder used for?

in the directory c:\documents and settings\ (user name) userdata what is the purpose of this folder

It stores the information that you as the user select for different application to interface with you as the user.

suggestion: Be very careful exploring around in folders/directories/and files that you don't understand. You could seriously damage your operating system.
