I think all organized religions were created by men, and not by God. I don't think there is any one true religion. I think more evil and atrocities have been comitted in the name of religion than anything else.

My church is non-denominational, just like God I say! I am on the prayer team at the big Cincinnati Vineyard, Steve Sjogren started it and now Dave Workman is our current Pastor. I absolutely love this church. You don't have to dress up (thank God) and there is a mix of nationalities and ages. I will go back in time here to explain something about my choice. When I was growing up I never went to church unless one of my friends begged me to (two times too many) I was swarmed with well wishers and do gooders...I felt like I would be someones "salvation prize" like a number. It was only after a near death experience at age 24 and a visit with "the other side" did I actually want to seek a church like the Vineyard. There are a lot of them out there now. They are all different of course, like any other church, to some degree or another. Just because this church is a good fit for me, it's not for everyone. I really feel we are attracted to the type of church or denomination for a reason, doesn't mean you will stay there forever. If I wasen't non-denominational I would be in a church of God. I hope you find what you are looking for!

You could start one, but then it would be a religion and you would have to quit attending because you don't believe in religion. You have painted yourself into a box. If churches are bad, I wonder what God meant when He said, "Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together", and "Where two or more are gathered in My name, I will be in the midst".

You say ".....more evil and atrocites have been committed in the name of religion than anything else". While there is truth in your statement, I would also say that more good and love have been shown through religion than anything else.
Every diaper, at one time or another, is going to be full of crap. Does this mean that we should stop using diapers? Heaven forbid, because the result would be worse. Religion has it's problems, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Get in there and make it better. Remember, you can't expect churches to be full of only perfect people, cause then you wouldn't be allowed in the door.

It sounds like you are as fed up with the judgmental nonsense that organized religion promotes as I was.

Judging from the clarity and order of your comments, you are ready to move on.

If you are seeing this clearly on your own you are probably ready for a graduate course in reality and human relations.

I suggest that you get a book called the course in miracles. It somewhat exhaustively explains many of the ideas you are talking about in great detail. It teaches a clear message of love as Jesus originally intended without all the conflicting messages that religion adds.

It’s well worth the effort. I have worn out my first copy, and had to get a new one.

Email if you think I can help.

Love and blessings

Ive been thinking about starting a "church" kind of like that Ive named my "religion" realism which is more of a theory than a religion which is better because a theory allows you to draw your own conclusions unlike beliefs that try to tell you what to believe

plus its alot easier to change a theory than a belief

after all a theory is an educated guess or idea that leaves room for adjustment as new evidence is discovered

Try church of Christ,(not united church of Christ, its a cult!) we are non denominational. Denominationalism is something Jesus prayed would not happen. The Bible predicted that it will happen and warns against it. In the first century, there was only One church. Over the years, Satan has divided religions into the numerous sects we have today. Romans 16:17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.

I'd say Unitarians but not entirely sure on that one. Baha'i people practice tolerance as well, I'm pretty sure. But Unfortunately, I think that people feel the need to put down more info than just 'there is a God' and so there are few churches for people such as yourself.
Good luck in finding like-minded people,

There is one true religion and ALL the major religions belong to it. It is called The Religion of God.

You are SO right about the evil and atrocities committed in the name of religion, but these have come to humanity by humans and not by God. His Teachings are clear and changeless from age to age. 'Tis humans who commit the evil and atrocious acts.

If you perceive the following to be the Word of God, you may want to investigate the Baha'i Faith:

“Members of the human race! Hold ye fast by the Cord which no man can sever. This will, indeed, profit you all the days of your life, for its strength is of God, the Lord of all worlds. Cleave ye to justice and fairness, and turn away from the whisperings of the foolish, them that are estranged from God, that have decked their heads with the ornament of the learned, and have condemned to death Him Who is the Fountain of wisdom. My name hath uplifted them to lofty grades, and yet, no sooner did I reveal Myself to their eyes than they, with manifest injustice, pronounced the sentence of My death. Thus hath Our Pen revealed the truth, and yet the people are sunk in heedlessness.
Whoso cleaveth to justice, can, under no circumstances, transgress the limits of moderation. He discerneth the truth in all things, through the guidance of Him Who is the All-Seeing. The civilization, so often vaunted by the learned exponents of arts and sciences, will, if allowed to overleap the bounds of moderation, bring great evil upon men. Thus warneth you He Who is the All-Knowing. If carried to excess, civilization will prove as prolific a source of evil as it had been of goodness when kept within the restraints of moderation. Meditate on this, O people, and be not of them that wander distraught in the wilderness of error. The day is approaching when its flame will devour the cities, when the Tongue of Grandeur will proclaim: “The Kingdom is God’s, the Almighty, the All-Praised!”

Yes of course..... go to any Church you feel like. That's what I do.

I was raised Catholic, consider myself Christian, although, what I ascertain is I don't need to be in a religion as long as I have a spiritual connection with God- Jesus is the true Religion and Church....... and God is in them all as long as there is one true believer there.
So the answer is yes.... the Church is for all.
inteleyes...... Peace!
