I heard there is a stuffed animal called a "snuggle puppy" that emulates a heartbeat and warmth that keeps a new puppy happy at night, keeps the puppy from crying all night. Can anyone tell me the type of store where I can find one of these and if you know how well they work? We also have kids the puppy is welcome to sleep with but wondering if this helps.

Don't know about that, but a wind-up alarm clock and a hot water bottle wrapped up in a fluffy towel will work wonders. I have had a dog in my life since I was 5 yrs. old and it hasn't failed me yet!

I've also heard of these - think I saw them advertised in the back of a cat magazine ... well, kittens need comfort too!

I had a look on Froogle but all I saw was a bean filled sack with a washable furry outer cover. Nothing that made a noise. However, I'm not so sure that one of those microwaveable bean things would be very good for a puppy as they have teeth & sometimes like to chew.

I remember, as someone has already said, being told to settle down the puppy with a hot water bottle, wrapped in a blanket & a ticking clock. Though I suppose that the puppy could chew this as well. We were fortunate enough to have one of those really old stone hot water bottles - no danger of chewing there - & wrapped that up in a blanket & left the pup with a ticking clock...

However, I'm no good at all at listening to a puppy cry & telling myself that she's gotta learn ... so I ended up taking box, hw bottle, ticking clock & puppy up to my room. Hmm.

Oh - just found the things that you meant:

I'm still not to sure what would happen if the puppy was a chewer ... though I suppose that dried rice wouldn't hurt it.

Would make a great toy for a child who really wanted a puppy or a kitten to snuggle though.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU7RX

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

I have never heard of that. It sounds like it would help. Try doing a yahoo, or google search. Also the only store I can think of that might have it would be petsmart..

It does sound like a good idea..
