What do you mean by "12x14in. long"???
Do you mean the length is 12x14 = 168 inches?
Then you need to convert that to feet: divide 168 by 12 and you have 14 feet.
Now that both length and width are in feet, just multiply the numbers 14x5 to get the area in square feet.

Do you mean 12 to 14 inches long by 5 feet wide?
If so, the rectangle is 1 foot or 1.16667 feet wide. Then multiply
and you will get a range of 5 square feet to 5.8333 square feet.'
This question is worded a little unusually, so it is very hard to answer with certainty

12 x 1.1666 = 13.999 x 5 = 69.999 sq ft. Convert the inches to feet by dividing 2 inches by 12 inches.
