Do you actually own this vehicle? (that is the most important question)

you can ask! but do you think they will be honest NO they wont. I got riped off by a dealer is it a good car? oh sure best one on the lot WHAT A JOKE the wheel bearing went-i discovered a patched up hole in the transmission-6 months later the engine went. I think I paid $5000 for some ones fast and furious car know what I'm saying? Id get a car from someone you know to insure you get a good car. Or get a new car/truck or last years model

There's lots of questions to ask. Ask about the high/low mileage, the maintenance the car has had, what if anything would need to be replaced in the near future, how many owners, anything you can come up with. If you walk into a dealership looking for a car with an attitude that you know what you want and you know about cars you will get a better deal. Hope this helps!!

Buying a used car/truck is tricky because they always sell it as is...meaning tough luck for you if it breaks down on your way out of the sellers driveway...
Take it to a mechanic, no option. If the selller objects to you having a mechanic take alook at it then forget the deal.
Make sure you get a title and bill of sale, check the VIN numbers and be sure they match. good luck.

You need to ask to take it for a test drive preferably to your mechanic and have it checked out. One question would be how many miles is on it. You can also get the vin number and so a carfax search of the car. You don't want a Katrina car.

You should get a carfax on any used vehicle you intend to purchase to check the vehicles history. you should take the car to a trusted mechanic and let him inspect the vehicle. Maintenance records would be nice if they are available. this is true when buying from an individual or a dealer.
Good luck

always ask if it has ever been in an accident. I also recommend you bring it yo a mechanic you trust prior to handing any money over. It is a reasonable request

Good luck
