What is the right form of prayer, that is, what is a true prayer?

Prayer must be from the heart. Whether it is written out or not makes no difference. Although we have many good examples of prayers in the Bible, including "the Lord's prayer", the only prayer that He hears is the one that expresses our heart to Him.

Flowery language, big words, Thees and Thous does not impress Him.

The best prayer ever conceived is "The Lord`s Prayer"...... because a God teach us what a God wants to hear prayers from the faithful...a complete surrender..."Thy will be done on earth as it is in the heaven" ...is monumental.
Other best prayers... when your hearts talks and speaks to God especially with personal problems of someone.
Never do memorized prayers, because it is useless, automatic, memorized. You don`t even understand or noticed what you are sayings because words are automatically said very fast...and before you know it, you`re done praying, which is unemotional, without understanding, and without meaning...thus become useless prayers or conversations to God.

Rom 8:26 stated that we do not know what to pray and that the Holy Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. I believe the best form of prayer is to pray in the Spirit (ie in tongues) until the Holy Spirit gives you the words to pray or until you have received the peace that passes all understanding (Phil 4:6,7). This is prayer from our heart (ie spirit) as led by the Spirit of God which will always be according to His will.

You don't have to be on your knees, or have a rosary in your hand, or use "thee's" and "thou's", speak your heart. The Lord's Prayer is Jesus' model for us. But God listens to even the simplest child like prayer. The important thing is where your heart is at. If it is truly open to His will, even if it's not what our will is, He'll continue to speak to it.

There are times we know we are hurting, but can't quite express it. Roamans 8:26 says "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express"

True prayer is what you find in your own heart to say to your own divinity. It's not about form or even function. Every organized religion has their own form of prayer. Meditation is a form of prayer. You have to find the path in your own mind and heart and spirit to connect to the Divine - within you and outside of your self.
