Are there many of you? I know that many people are not vegetarian because it's God's will that we have 'dominion' over the rest of the world, but if you are a vegetarian, why are you?

Love to all veggies and non-veggies out there,

x

I like veggies. I don't believe God really cares about you being a vegetarian. As for the dominion we have it without slaughtering animals. Adam and Eve never ate meat in the garden of eden only afterwards did God say that you could. So having dominion is control of them(Which we still do).

Ha ha! Thanx for the little addition! I am Jewish.
I choose not to eat meat because in Genesis, G-d told Mankind that every seed-bearing herb would be for our food.
It wasn't until after the Flood that we became flesh eaters.
Also, if you look at SDA's (Seventh Day Adventists), they are vegetarians & the longest living & healthiest people there are on the planet.

My fiance and I have gone over this same subject. We're both Christian. She's partially vegitarian, I'm strickly not. She says, although I haven't seen it yet, that Jewish law forbids eating certain meats at certain times because of diseases. Like I said, I haven't seen that. Anyway, that's why she won't eat meat a lot even though she's Christian and Jewish laws don't apply. But in 1 Chorintheans 10 (I think) it says when you eat at your neighbor's or brother's house, don't question the food that's in front of you. Meaning, "have faith that (i.e.) it's not poisoned, you won't get sick, you won't die, you won't eventually die, their not out to hurt you."
I can definately understand being a vegitarian for medical/health reasons, say, if you're a diabetic. But other than that it's a choice and choosing not to eat something out of fear that it'll make you sick or unhealthy is not having much faith. Not trying to bash vegitarians. I love you guys, too. Just have faith and choose wisely and may God bless.

Having dominion should not be confused with having dumbness. Vegetarianism is smart, healthful, fun, interesting..... and I like veggies!!!!

Tomatoes of the world, unite!!!

Eating meat, not eating meat.... all things in moderation.....

I've been a vegetarian for ten years, the first three of which or so I was still practicing Christianity, so that's where I was when I made the decision. For me...it's mostly the thought of being repulsed by eating dead flesh. Yuck.

I talked with one vegetarian years ago and asked her this question. for her the answer was she didn't want to eat anything that had to die before she ate it. my response was this was not a valid reason as even pulling vegetables from the ground killed a living thing.

This question is another perfect example of the devil and his ability to distract us from Jesus Christ and him crucified.
All the side issues of very little meaning are asked and no one hears the message of Jesus Christ for them.
We are sinners in need of saving.
Thanks be to God for His grace.
Thanks be to God for His saving us through the person Jesus Christ.

They get sent to jail for life!
so seriously.. its basically the same thing!
we can kill a living thing just to eat it!
