You would attract layabout blokes that see you as provider of a cushy life so they don't have to work for a living. That's what she means.

I guess what he/she was trying to say is that some men may see a successful woman and feel that if they become a part of this woman's life, they won't have to work as hard to get the things that she has already accomplished. It's all already there. But if you ask me, a man that would regard this type of woman as a meal ticket is a lazy son of a you know what, and doesn't have a clue as to what a real man is all about.

I'm a single woman that owns a home, men only treat you like a meal ticket if you let them. This means if a guy lives with a woman who owns her home, he could lay around and not work because she's provided the home for him. The woman could become his "free" meal ticket by paying his way since he doesn't pay the mortgage, bills, etc.

It means that some men consider her a target to get an easy life - rather than having to provide for anyone else, or themselves, they will live with the woman and live off her.

I don't agree, a lot of guys still hold true to traditional values of the man providing. And, despite what the magazines say, I don't know many women who would insist on paying their way if they didn't have to.

She means that independent women will often have men depending on them, instead of the other way around. I agree to a point. Men seem to be using a woman's power to their own advantage. I'll take the power, but the men get nothing from me.

Your friend is saying that some men may see a woman with her own house as someone to live off of. Instead of providing for himself , he can just live in that house eating off that womans food and not doing anything for it.

This means that equality is achieved, and although most men would be pleased to see women successful, it would be unusual but not impossible to regard this as a meal ticket,

Well... if she's not married or in a relationship already and does not acknowledge the game that some men play, then it means that she is open to be used for a hot meal, sex, a roof over his head even if he's a looser.

I do not agree

She means that a woman with her own house and a decent job might attract men who aren't really into her, but just want to have somewhere nice to live and get fed without having to work themselves or make any financial contribution.

Avoid such men at all costs! There are more of them around than you might think.

A friend of mine had one such scrounger live with her for a few months. She even lent him money.

And guess what? Yes you're right - he disappeared one day and she hasn't seen him since.
