Since most of you said SATAN controls the evil in this world, what does God do on Earth? Anything? Can he stop starvation? If not, what is the use of "praying for the end of starvation", "praying for peace", "praying for anything on earth"? (Bible verses, foolish comments, personal questions, and personal attacks on anyone will be deleted) Bible thumpers: please refrain from using bible quotes.

If you believe in God then he can stop starvation. I assume that since he's not stopping it, there must be a good reason. Maybe he wants to toughen people up. I think the point of praying would be to pray to God for the knowledge to resolve a problem. It's like meditation. You clear your head and have a better chance of thinking of a solution. Maybe God only gives people the answers to certain problems when they are praying (meditating). You never know who he will give the answer to so we all have to pray.

I don't even know if there is a God but if there was, it might work that way.

God did not make starvation, man in his own greed created it, like man made the wars, because of greed! It is to bad that the good get punished along with the bad! There are still miracles that do happen on earth and we should give credit to God for them! The ones that suffer attain a greater place in Heaven. God gave us this beautiful world and some just aren't happy with it and louse it up! And this is the whole idea of prayer, Rome wasn't built in a day and God is always testing us, to prove our love for Him! We are learning patience!

People who believe in God are also going to believe in the Bible, but I'll try not to quote. God could stop starvation if he wanted to, however it is a prophesy that starvation will occur in the last days. It's not that God doesn't want everyone to be well fed, it's that from the time of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden man has decided that they think it's better for them to rule themselves. That's why God hardly, if at all, interferes with our lives here on earth. As you said, the world is lying in the power of Satan. God is not a fairy Godmother who's going to grant every wish for everyone. He has his own affairs to attend to and if your prayer has nothing to do with what he's already deemed his will, then it's not like he's going to put our desires in front of his will. Think of all the people that pray to get rich. Do you think God will grant all of them that? Or the people who pray for a new car? etc... As much as we as humans (some of us) desire for a peaceful world and the end of starvation, it's not like any man-made government is going to solve these issues. I believe that's the point God is trying to make. He has the power to resurrect those that he wants and he knows that this life isn't all there is. But as long as there's even some power hungry, money hungry men living on the earth, then somebodie's shoes are going to get stepped on.

Do you know any one personally, who starve? Did you feed him? Did you try to give him a job and let him live in pride that he earned his food? In our own small way we should be ready to help others. That is why, God put us here. First begin by doing this good, instead of questioning the world and asking people to enter into question answer jargon of words play.
Prayes gives us the opportunity to look into ourselves and organize our thoughts followed by our actions.
Starvation or any other suffering of living beings are only the results of our action. The answer is not just to feed the starving people, or give things to the needy. The solution is to remove the cause of the problem in our own way. Prayer gives us the strenght to resolve in our minds that we will do some thing in our own power to remove this cause of suffering.

G-d gave us the earth and life. He gave us the raw materials needed to feed, clothe, and shelter us. He gave us brains with which to learn and accomplish things. He gave us all we need.

Now, it is time for us to stop praying for more and more, and start working to put these gifts to good use. We must do our share to work with G-d. We, the people, have the ability to bring about all the good of our lives, and there need not be hunger, war, etc.,.

you have a good point.the best thing for pple to do is to pray for God's kingdom to bring about an end to the present situation.so that means end of human governments.remember the famous lord's prayer, says that we should ask for God's kingdom to come and his will to be done here on earth.until then we just have to live in these chaotic system of things.it will not be long though.

God does not exist.
"wishing" for something to happen does not work.we have to make it happen.
Man needs to get his act together to sort out starvation
,we produce enough food each day to feed everyone but the distribution is unfair.
look at America.... the richest country on the planet but if your broke your screwed...

I don't know about God and the Devil's control of this world!
I believe we are all responsible for our actions or non-action.
If we want to stop war, hunger, diseases, crime and all that
needs to be changed for the betterment of humanity, than
it is up to US (all the people on this earth) to try and change it.
We can't blame the Devil or God for all the trouble we are in,
it is OUR RESPONSIBILITY to make it better.

If free will, sin, and satan can be stopped. As a human you can do many things...good or bad. I pray because it gives me guidance and direction in my life. I also pray for others. God expects a little action on our part too. Prayer is not the magic answer machine that automatically makes things work.
