I had this problem with my mums old pc. I went to the windows site and searched for flashpen drivers. Usually there is one on there that will work.
As for unzipping them, I think that you will click unzip, then once that's finished there may be an exe file in the unzip folder you can click on. If not, then remember where the downloaded driver is ie desktop or my documents.
Plug your flash pen in and go to Control Panel, Add new hardware. It will search for your flash pen and then ask if you have the disk for it. Click on browse and find the file you downloaded. Click ok and it should work.
If it doesn't, see if the computer will recommend a file on the system that will work.
Hope this helps.

Under XP, flash drives are plug and play. Under Windows 98se you will need a usb driver. Any generic usb flash driver should do the trick. Try inserting it into the USB socket and then doing a windows update. This should pickup the drive and download the driver. If this doesn't happen, then go to

and read the PDF manual at

Maybe the first two people that answered did not understand the question! Win98SE requires drivers for flash drives.....!!

Did you not get a disk with it? You should have! Each manufacturer uses a different driver, without the name it mught be tough. You culd try plugging it into an XP machine, to see that name it comes up with? That might give you an idea of where to look...... mail me if you need further help!

Uncover your flashdisk and look for any port in your cpu that looks like it can accept it. You can plug it anywhere, even if it says that the disk is high speed and the drive isnt. There is usually one in front, but there are a lot at the back of your cpu. Can't understand the last part of your question though. Do you mean that you can't find things you put in the flash? Check when you save, if you saved it in the drive because files automatically save in my documents or the desktop.

For 98 though, you should install that thing. The drive should come with a cd though.

For Windows 98se you definately need drivers. Plug and play with USB devices didn't work until Windows 2000.

You need to figure out what kind of device you have and who makes it. Doubt there are generic drivers out there. You can try putting it into an XP machine and when it loads it should tell you.

You shouldn't need any drivers. Should show up in My Computer as a new drive automatically.

Flash drives do not use drivers. They are basically true "plug and play" devices.

get usbview.exe from microsoft,
